On site at OSAF Day 3
This post is going to be short. I woke up this morning feeling quite ill. I managed to drag myself into the office and attend the IRC office hours and have a meeting with Brian Skinner about the Chandler data model.
The IRC was on community topics. We talked about how to scale up to big projects like Mozilla size. I don't think that the ASF has any projects involving as many developers as Mozilla, so it was interesting to hear the difference in perspective on the need for certain kinds of structures and processes. Maybe I'll write more in depth on this later.
Meeting with Brian helped me to understand some of the more unusual features of Chandler's data model, as well as the rationale for the inclusion of some features.
Most disappointing of all, I had to cancel my plans to visit David Temkin over at Lazlo Systems. I hope that we'll be able to do that next time I come down. Also highly questionable at this point is getting together with Marc Canter tomorrow night, especially since he seems to have gone dark for most of this week.
Here's hoping that a long nights sleep will help.
