What do we expect from these lousy machines?

Sanjiva had this to say about Geir's PowerBook upgrade/migration:
Wow, this is amazing. I don't want to even start to describe the migration pains for the rest of us .. :(.
I couldn't help thinking about some dialog from The Empire Strikes Back:
Luke (after Yoda lifts an X-Wing fighter out of a swamp using the Force): "I don't believe it!"
Yoda: "That is why you fail."
Megadittos. I just got one of the new Hires 15" PBs to replace my faithful 1st gen TiBook. Fired up migration assistant, and an hour or so later (much smaller HD on those TiBooks) I'm logging into exactly the same desktop on the new machine! I think the only problem I had was that iTunes inexplicably thought a few songs in its database were missing, but the files were right there on disk so I just had to "reintroduce" them.

You are damned lucky not to live in America (Especially if you’re black, gay, and/or an atheist).
I’d say the iPod tax is an island in the stream (trivial).
