RSS for System status
I run a bunch of tools on my various systems in order to keep track of the state of my system including:
Yesterday awstats 6.1 hit Debian unstable, so now I'll be able to get my website statistics as an RSS feed. The rest of these programs are still stuck in the HTML era. I'd love to be able to monitor all my systems' status via RSS.
Meanwhile, Greg Reinacker has written some code to convert the Windows event log into an RSS feed. Bill deHora is reporting on ways to use a Jabber client as a log monitor, including a way to take RSS and push it through. When we get a Jabber enabled iChat (as some are saying will happen in Tiger), I'm sure this will be the source of lots of alert noise.
