Apple Laptop share rising
Here's some good news: According to Think Secret, Apple's US laptop market share grew 2% in Q2, leaving their total laptop market share at 7%, and moving them to fifth place overall.
Maybe a 15" AlBook isn't so crazy after all...

Spend some time hanging out a coffee shop, even here in Seattle, and its hard to believe that they have only 7%. Nearly every laptop on every table is a Mac.

I still think that Apple needs to work with Motorola and IBM to come up with a lower voltage PPC chip. What they need is something like the Pentium-m and the Athalon XP-M

As I've said before, it may only be a few percent of the overall market, but it's not the numbers that are significant - it's their identities. I regard Apple as a start-up with OS X and great design, funded by their Mac legacy, and believe they are successfully capturing an influencer market that will move much bigger numbers given enough time. Don't forget to fire up iChat and join me for a video chat, Ted :-)

2 hours of battery life for $2600??
T40's live a lot longer than that, even with the small battery.
