Java is preferable to C++ in exactly the same way that driving a 1994 Chevy Impala is preferable to driving a 1978 Ford LTD.
And of course neither is anything like a BMW, Acura, Porsche or Ferrari.
No, but at least they're affordable.

I wouldn't disagree if somebody said Lisp was the Ferrari. People would drive it just for the snob appeal. <wink>
But seriously, if it weren't for Python, I wouldn't have even considered learning Lisp.
