X# is real....
Werner Vogels is out at Microsoft for the Microsoft Faculty Summit. One of the things that he discovered is that X# is based on Meijer and Schulte's paper Unifying Tables, Objects, and Documents.

I started a thread a week ago about the topic titled:
Grand unification theory of information
http://www.gotdotnet.com/Community/MessageBoard/Thread.aspx?id=125881
1. Teach dataServers how to spit data, not only in the shape of cursors, but like objects as well, arrays, collections and hierarchical structures that we can easily bind to UI controls.
2. Add "attributes" to data structures in our programming languages.
3. Think that xml was only a bad dream and forget about it, accept the shame with dignity and move on.
4. The new standard format for data transfer has the java/C# syntax, and schemas are just plain class definitions (standing ovation)
Proposal: three worlds unified under one format
- query and store curly brackets
- code and present curly brackets
- exchange and consume curly brackets
Other languages will have parsers to transform these objects into their syntax
And everybody coded happily ever after....
