Don is one of us...
I've suspected Don Box of being a "sympathizer" from various small comments he's made over time. But a few days ago he confirmed it.

I don't think its a coincidence that people with deep exposure to LISP are doing work with XML and SOA. More than programming syntax, LISP is a way of thinking about programming. The philosophy is best espoused in two books: SICP and "On Lisp." I would summarize the philosophy as: Abstraction + Simplicity = Elegance. There is little new in XML or Web Services per se, but what makes them compelling is a vision to simplify programming. The ideas of LISP will return to prominence as XML, XQuery, and SOAP unify data, query, and transport. Then we'll have to figure out how to make it all work with all of our legacy systems, including Java, .NET, and SQL!
