Planet Python
Thanks to my Technorati watchlist, I discovered Planet Python. Unfortunately, it looks like it's not quite open for business. It needs a planet wide RSS feed.

I discovered it in referrers- it seems a little buggy though. I know that PlanetPlanet make their code available, but this appears to be homegrown.
It's a good attempt, but it has a few issues; it seems to have trouble with undated feeds. Barry Warsaw, who hasn't updated his blog in years, seems to have a permanent place on the front page.
I'm not sure what's wrong with mechanical cat? It's friendly, works well, is already established. All that needs to happen is for someone to register PlanetPython.org and point it at him.
That said, full RSS feeds are a big undertaking. You need them fat-pipes to do that :).

I updated the code for planet. It appears to have fixed a couple bugs and added rss feeds (pick you poison):
http://planetpython.trolocsis.com/rss20.xml
http://planetpython.trolocsis.com/rss10.xml
http://planetpython.trolocsis.com/opml.xml
http://planetpython.trolocsis.com/foafroll.xml
It was just a personal site. Any additions, updated blogs would be welcome.

If anybody wanted to make the html look better; I would be open to it. Is there a demand for a planetpython.org?

Excellent! Thanks for the feeds. I've added PlanetPython to the Planet Apache sidebar
