The end of an era

Last night I went to the midnight showing of Revenge of the Sith, along with some friends. It's been years since I waited in line for a movie, or went to a midnight show. We were in line for about two hours, which wasn't too bad because the company was good.
As for the movie itself, it's hard to say. Both the beginning and end were predetermined, so there was a limit to what could be done. Certainly there was plenty of action, and most of that was pretty good. The dialog was pretty bad, as expected. It certainly wasn't as bad as Episodes I or II, but I'm having trouble deciding whether it was good enough to edge out Return of the Jedi. Regardless, after 28 years, Star Wars is done.
Over? Do you really believe that? There is way too much money in the Star Wars franchise for it to just stop. Lucas may be done with it, but I suspect we haven't seen the last Star Wars movie.

Do you really think Lucas will stick to his claim that he won't make episodes 7-9? I think the only way it'll happen is if he dies first. He's made it very obvious he's in it for the money, and people have proven they'll go see anything with the Star Wars name on it.

From my perspective, it was better than Return of the Jedi. Certainly far far better than 1 and 2.
I wasn't going to go the first week, after my disappointment with 1, I decided not to give Lucas his 90%-during-the-first-week cut of my ticket. But some friends were going... :)

Chris and Clayton,
I saw reports of a TV show. The problem with 7-9 is that there has been so much written about the major characters from 4-6 that it would be hard to do a 7-9 that continued on with those characters. And without them, you can brand it Star Wars, but it won't really be Star Wars.
Jeffrey,
I'm slowly coming around to your point of view. I might just need to see it a few more times...
