The marketing of condiments

I think I'm about to add a new data filtering rule: "If Malcolm Gladwell writes it, I read it". His September piece,
The Ketchup Conundrum is interesting both for the explanations of how mustard/ketchup taste, and the process which people have used to create and market these condiments.
Gladwell also has an article about copyright and plagarism in the New Yorker, and a book coming out. All very exciting!

Thanks Ted, that was very interesting. I really enjoyed that article! And I didn't recognize his name at first, but then it hit me - he wrote Tipping Point, which was a very interesting book too.

Gladwell's article about face reading is what what added that rule to my filters list, and I haven't even read The Tipping Point, though it's been on my "to-read" list for too long already.
Here's my homework question related to the face reading article: what role does organized crime play in the rise of Botox as a "wrinkle remover"???

Since I too am a huge Gladwell fan I was quite disappointed by his recent article about the healthcare industry; naive and prescriptive makes a poor combination. The most recent article about IP rights is a just a very nicely told story and more appropriately light about conclusions. He has a web site: http://gladwell.com/ . All his New Yorker articles seem are posted there. No feed of course. Let the delicious mob mind the gap: http://del.icio.us/tag/gladwell ?
